Who we are
Ulemavu — Swahili for "disability" — is Kenya's dedicated disability research and consultancy institute, working to fully integrate persons with disabilities into their communities and ensure their human rights are respected, protected, and fulfilled.
Our key areas of focus and expertise include disability research, accessibility audits, and the formulation of disability mainstreaming policies, strategic plans, white papers, reports, and articles. We also conduct job recruitment for organisations seeking to hire persons with disabilities, deliver disability mainstreaming training, and provide strategic advice on disability inclusion.
We collaborate with organisations across Kenya and beyond — from financial institutions and employers to government bodies and disabled people's organisations — for better service delivery.
